Leaf pie crust cutters: Williams-Sonoma ( I also love this set. The acorn and pumpkin cutters are darling!)

There are so many things to celebrate during fall. Fresh apple pie is one of my favorites that comes to mind. I visited my parents this past weekend while my husband is in Asia on a business trip and wanted to do some baking.  I brought the fresh apples that my friend Alexis and I recently picked from an apple orchard and decided to make a homemade pie with my mom. Baking a pie is on my fall bucket list and seems to make fall extra fun! Apples smothered in sticky, sweet spices  and then wrapped in a flaky crust is as scrumptious as can be! Plus, your home will thank you for making it smell so amazing. Mmmmm!

“I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.”~ L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables.

Here is the recipe from Martha Stewart that we used. I added a teaspoon of vanilla extract to give the apples to give it a nice flavor.

Have a lovely Autumn day,
