The frosty temps have had me yearning for a sweet and toasty confection. This yearning also means that my chocolate addiction has been kicked into high gear! When I came across Sugarfina’s bite-sized S’mores, a brilliant idea popped into my head. I was going to make my exquisite homemade hot cocoa and instead of adding regular, tasteless marshmallows, I was going to add the bite-sized Sugarfina S’mores to the drink. Like I said, it was a brilliant idea! The delectable Sugarfina mini marshmallows are lovingly covered in premium chocolate and then rolled in crushed graham crackers. I may have to purchase a few more of these confections!

The Sugared Lemon’s Spiced Hot Cocoa recipe:

  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 4 ounces chopped dark chocolate or bittersweet chocolate (both are delicious)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Garnish: Whipped cream and Sugarfina S’mores
 Preparation:
  • Whisk the milk, brown sugar, and whipping cream in a large saucepan over medium heat until the mixture begins to simmer. Reduce heat to medium-low; add the cocoa powder, chocolate, and cinnamon; whisk until chocolate is melted and smooth. Pour into mugs, add garnishes and enjoy!
