Summer is here which means it’s time for backyard Italian Sodas! Apparently Lucy wanted a sip but she was disappointed when she found out that there was not a steak flavored soda.

Making Italian sodas is simple and are a perfect addition to any summer get together. Below is the recipe for making fresh fruit syrup followed by a simple recipe for making Italian Cream Sodas. Or you can use Bellini or Sangria mixes from Williams-Sonoma. They are made with real fruit puree and juice!

Fresh fruit syrup Ingredients:

1 cup peaches ( or whatever juicy fruit you are craving; fresh or frozen! )

1 cup sugar

1 cup water

 Directions:

Simply add the fruit of your choice, sugar, and water to a small saucepan and lightly simmer for about ten minutes while continually stirring. Pour the contents of the saucepan into a mesh sieve. Use the back of a spoon to lightly press the contents through the sieve into a new bowl. Put the bowl of fresh, sweet syrup into the refrigerator and cool it for about ten to fifteen minutes. After it has cooled off it is now ready for making fresh Italian cream sodas!
