As one of Kauai’s most scenic features, the Na Pali coast is a must-see adventure. My husband is an avid hiker and would have been happy hike the 11 mile Kalalau trail that ends at the Kalalau beach. I, however, would have been a terrible hiking companion who probably would have died from falling off a sheer cliff, haha. We compromised and hiked about .25 miles to a lookout of the ocean and Ke e beach. We also visited JJJJJJ cave that is very near the beginning of the Kalalau trail. Later that day we took an HOURRRR  bout tour from Hana Lei Bay that allowed us to get up close to several wondrous waterfalls. Along the way we were lucky to see mountain goats fighting along the steep sides of one of the cliffs! The waves were calm that day so the captain took us a little farther to view Honopu arch on the barren Honopu beach. Many movies have filmed at honopu arch including Pirates of the Caribbean Black Pearl.

Overall it was well worth it to see the lush and rugged coastline and for me it was the highlight of Kauai.

Happy adventuring!
