The St. Regis Princeville

The St. Regis Princeville on the North Shore of Kauai lays claim to the best location on the whole island; on a cliff overlooking Hana Lei Bay. Several parts of the hotel have sweeping views of the lush mountains and serene waters of the pristine Hana Lei Bay. The view by itself is worth the price you pay for your stay. I have stayed in various hotels around the world and I can honestly say that it has a truly world class view! As for the decor, it is simple, rich and elegant throughout the entire hotel.

Location: Situated on Kauai’s North Shore about thirty miles from the Lihue airport. The North Shore felt very ‘small town’ and houses a mix of tourists, surfers, and retirees. Honestly, all of Kauai including the north shore, felt sleepy to me and almost all of the restaurants outside of the St. Regis in the Hana Lei area closed by 8 pm. The Hotel location is right on the beach and has a 5 star view. The pool area is a place to see and be seen! Bit of a bummer about the beach but nearby is a much better option for a day of fun in the sand at the nearby Pali Ke Kua (Hideaways) beach. This is where I did my photoshoot featuring RAD swimwear! We spent a few hours there experiencing fantastic snorkeling and sun bathing. There are only about 8 parking spots for Pali Ke Kua beach so get there early! Also, the short and steep climb down to the beach is treacherous so bring tennis shoes for the climb.

Room amenities: Complimentary high speed internet access and water bottles were a nice touch. The bathroom features complimentary bath products from Remede which is an upscale branch off of Bliss. If you are familiar with my blog then you know how much I adore Bliss bath products.

Dining: The dining at the St. Regis Princeville consists of three restaurants, one bar, and one coffee bar. The Makana Terrace offers outdoor dining with a gorgeous view of Hana Lei Bay and serves delicious sushi rolls amongst other delights. If you prefer something a little more relaxing then I suggest eating poolside at the Nalu Kai Grill and Bar. I ordered the fresh Mahi Mahi Fish Tacos and it was nothing short of delicious!

Atmosphere: A mix of well dressed couples in varying ages with very few children. I was very pleased that it never felt crowded or desolate which I think is the perfect combination!

Who should stay here: Well dressed guests wanting a lavish tropical vaca where they can have every whim catered to. Ideal for a couples getaway.
