The Sugared Lemon’s review of the launch party for Sugarfina in Pasadena, California
Look out patrons of Pasadena, you’re about to get a glitzy sugar rush! I was kindly and personally invited to the launch party for the upscale candy boutique, Sugarfina, at their newest location in Pasadena, California. I’ve visited Cali a bunch of times but I’ve never visited The City of Roses. The store is located on a trendy street in Old Pasadena surrounded by exposed brick buildings with stunning historic architecture. As we stepped past the light turquoise doors we were greeted by friendly waiters who were happy to help us by showing where we could get a glass of bubbly champagne. It was a sweet gesture but I don’t drink so I opted for a fizzy Pellegrino. My friend Alexis and I mingled with other guests including the adorable Hamlet the Piggy. I can honestly say that I have never met a famous pig before! While mingling we sampled a variety of candies and chocolates and oh, what a glorious array of sweets to choose from! Marzipan Lemon Cakes, Confetti Dolci (imported from Italy and available in the U.S. exclusively at Sugarfina), Aphrodite Kumquats (imported from Greece), and Cocoa Biscotti Bites. I think Alexis will agree that we had the best sugar high ever. I think I may be a Sweetaholic and truth be told, I’m ok with it! As fabulous as the sweets were, the highlight for me was meeting and chatting with the lovely and charming Rosie O’Neill. I was impressed with how genuine and personal she was with us, a definite sign of a classy lady. All in all it was a fabulous evening of delicious sweets, new friends, and an unforgettable experience. I am one lucky lady!
