My sweet little Lucy absolutely loves playing with her toys and especially her yellow squeaky ball. When my parents ( nana and granddad ) visit, Lucy instantly runs to get her ball and then happily gallops back to them and drops her cherished toy in their lap. Lucy is just like the sweet and silly dog in the book Ball by Mary Sullivan. It is a hilarious book that takes you through a day in the life of a ball-obsessed dog. After the dogs adorable little owner leaves for school the dog is left to rely on an inattentive meditating yoga mom, a finicky baby and an angry cat to play fetch with his beloved toy. The dog eventually doses off and has a laugh out loud ball-centered dream sequence that I can imagine my own dog having. The word BALL is the only dialogue but the humorous pictures say a thousand words that all dog lovers will understand! The humor in this book had me literally laughing out loud because I could imagine my own little pup Lucy having the same gleeful thought process. Aren’t dogs just the best at making you smile? Love them!
