In honor of the first Sugared Lemon foodie post, my mother and I made a lemon cake. This is no ordinary, boring lemon cake but rather a cheery, citrus confection that is sure to please! The fresh whipped frosting is light enough that it compliments the dense, citrus cake. The handmade candied lemons are a perfect sparkling “accessory” to this delicious delight! Honestly, this just might be what sunshine tastes like. I also must confess that I get a strange satisfaction when my guests faces light up when they take a bite of what I made for them. You won’t find any cake mix boxes in my kitchen!!
