I’ll never forget the first time I read The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett. It was one of the first books I truly loved and continued to read over and over! My grandmothers garden and a quiet corner of Hyde Park are the closest I’ve come to seeing the secret garden I imagined in my mind as a child. That is why I was overjoyed when my darling friend Emily and I went to our local tulip festival and saw that they had a fully mature, bricked in garden that you entered through a small maze. It was complete with two delightful wooden doors that opened to the loveliest, flower-filled garden! It felt like we were strolling through the Cotswolds in England and it was nice to feel like I wasn’t in Utah for a moment!
Emily and I had such an enjoyable day filled with lots of laughter, mainly because we were driving a golf cart around the massive gardens and I am a terrible driver! Luckily, no one was harmed… Haha! Thank goodness for a great friend and fun memories!
