Welcome to the world, little one! Our darling and beaming baby girl, Everly Verina Belle, you are loved!

We were at Target around 7pm picking up baby bottles when my water broke and it was time to go to the hospital! I had been having contractions all day but I wasn’t sure if they were Braxton Hicks contractions. When we arrived at the hospital, I had an epidural and had almost no sleep the whole night because I was too anxious and nervous. I hadn’t eaten dinner and I was starving all night but at least I didn’t get nauseated and throw up!  Around 10 Am the next morning I was fully dilated and it was time to push. I was extremely scared of the pain to come and started crying. Shawn was so sweet and kind to me and got me to calm down. My amazing doctor informed me that it usually takes about six hours for first time moms to push. I could hardly believe that after forty  minutes, the nurses excitedly told me that they could see her head and she had lots of dark hair! It was exactly what I needed to hear and five minutes later, she arrived! They placed this wiggly, darling baby on my chest and I started to cry tears of pure joy!
Our Everly Verina Belle arrived at 11:15 Am on February 18, weighing in at 8.6 Lbs! Shawn and I thought she was going to be tiny but our Everly ended up being quite a big and healthy baby! I have no idea how I had an 8.6 pound baby in me, haha! She has daddy’s blue eyes, which we hope don’t change, and momma’s lips, chin and hair! We waited nine years to have a baby and completely adore our bouncing baby girl!
Her name was originally just going to be Everly Verina, but we decided to add the name Belle. When I was sick and nauseated for the first two months of pregnancy, I laid on my couch with my lil pup Lucy and I would stare at a photo above my fireplace that said, “La Vie est Belle”. It’s french and translated into english means,  “Life is beautiful”. When my ever so loved and cherished Lucy passed away unexpectedly, Shawn and I were utterly and completely heartbroken and I couldn’t be consoled for weeks. What helped me get through that extremely hard time in my life was that photo above my fireplace. It helped remind that life really is beautiful and my Lucy had a beautiful and happy life. Shawn and I knew that our Everly Verina needed to have that reminder in her name!

Have a lovely day,
