My darling niece Olivia sneaking some black raspberries!
Haven’t you heard the latest beauty craze? Squished raspberries for lipstick! Haha 🙂
There was a giant bug in one of the raspberry bushes and I screamed and threw the berries in the air. My niece Mackayla thought it would be fun to capture the moment… haha
Our tartlets turned out quite beautiful and tasty!
Over the weekend we spent time at my parent’s house and had my nieces over to play with their favorite Auntie Katie (me). My parent’s, red raspberry and black raspberry bushes were perfectly ripe and ready to be picked. I won’t lie, a lot of the berries we picked ended up in our mouths but we managed to save enough for our tartlets. My nieces love to help bake and are quite the good little bakers! We made pastry cream and fresh raspberry tartlets from my cherished and well used Miette cookbook. My littlest niece Olivia decorated a tartlet with raspberries and a mound of powdered sugar for her uncle Shawn (my husband). So sweet! You can buy the fabulous recipe book here and here.
