I had such a pleasant time baking today thanks to my well used and loved Miette cookbook. I made this sweet delight from a recipe in the cookbook to make a perfectly smooth buttercream topped Lemon Debutante Cake. Much like an actual debutante who is measured by refinement, outstanding qualities, and taste, so is this cake and it is up to par! The best part of this lemon treat is the fresh lemon curd that separates three layers of tart lemon infused sponge cake. This cake is elegant, dainty and perfect for any lady like social gathering and just like Julia Childs said, “A party without cake is just a meeting”.
